This 1 Day Temporary Corks Supervisor Programme is based Section 2 Procedural control of temporary works of BS 5975:2019
This Programme covers the role and responsibilities of the Temporary Works Supervisor or TWS within the construction industry under Code of Practice BS5975 and includes the underpinning knowledge and practical skills necessary for those who need to operate as TWS.
COURSE AIM & OBJECTIVES
- To clarify what constitutes ‘Temporary Works’ and familiarise delegates with Newly released BS 5975:2019 Code of Practice for temporary work procedures & the permissible stress design of falsework and the tools available to help with the process.
- To ensure that persons operating in the role of temporary works supervisors understand their duties and responsibilities and possess the knowledge necessary to carry out their role.
On successful completion of this programme, participants will:
- Be able to define temporary works and give 5 examples.
- List the principle legislation covering temporary works in Ireland.
- Understand the need to manage temporary works.
- Be familiar with the principles of BS5975 Code of Practice
- State the importance of the temporary works procedure.
- Know the roles and responsibilities of those controlling and constructing temporary works.
- Know your roles and responsibilities as a TWS and how to monitor and supervise.
- Be able to work with a temporary works coordinator.
- Know the difference between design risks and risks of implementation.
- Understand and complete temporary works documentation including RAMS and Permits
- Know the importance of the 4 C’s in relation to your role.
- Explain why temporary works fail and how to fail safely.
