To provide delegates with the essential knowledge required to operate Spider Cranes safely.
Who should attend
This Spider Crane training course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn how to operate Spider Cranes.
Location
On-site training on your premises is also available anywhere in Ireland subject to minimum numbers. A suitable room would be required for on-site training for the theory section of the course, and a compact crane is needed for the practical. A copy of the current 12 monthly Certificate of Thorough Examination for each Spider Crane is required.

Spider Crane Operator’s Manual
Spider Crane safety devices
Identifying overhead hazards
Observing ground conditions
Manouvering the Spider Crane
Spider crane set-up
Safe working loads
Operating with and without loads
Park and secure Spider Crane
Theory assessment
Practical assessment
Duration 
1-day training for experienced plant operators.
Extra training days can be added to the Spider Crane course, for trainees without any previous plant operating experience.
Trainee Requirements
Trainees must be at least 18 years of age. They must be medically fit to operate machinery.
PPE requirements
Trainees must bring their own PPE to the Spider Crane training course. Safety footwear, Hard hat, Hi-visibility vest.
Training Methods
Presentation with slides, printed course material, demonstration, practical use.

Certification
On successful completion of the Spider Crane course and assessments, candidates will receive a POBS certificate of completion.
