Fire Warden Training

Fire Warden Training Course

There is a legal requirement on employers to ensure staff are trained in matters of health and safety. This includes fire safety management and the use of fire extinguishers. There is also a requirement to prepare an emergency plan that outlines how the workplace will be evacuated in the event of a fire outbreak. The employer must appoint responsible persons known as the Fire Safety Manager to ensure emergency plans are prepared and that training takes place. This includes training the use of fire extinguishers and training in emergency evacuation. This training is usually in the form of fire warden training. Fire Wardens are designated the responsibility of executing this plan in an emergency situation. The Fire Warden course aims to inform Fire Wardens of their responsibilities in running a fire drill effectively and safely. It also details the steps involved in developing an emergency Plan for the workplace, in the event that one does not currently exist. All other members of staff should be trained in basic fire safety awareness to inform them about fire prevention and to alert them to the dangers of smoke and smoke travel and the steps to be taken in the event of a fire.
