Abrasive Wheels Training
Course Details
This comprehensive half-day programme is designed to cover all the legal requirements for the safe use and mounting of abrasive wheels.
It examines the most up-to-date legislation, as well as wheel selection, wheel storage, wheel types, and markings. This course also includes practical demonstrations on procedures to be followed when mounting abrasive wheels.
Abrasive Wheels Training Course Content:
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (Regulation 9) require that any person using a piece of work equipment that presents a significant risk to the user must be trained. The training must cover not only the use but also any hazards arising from the use and the precautions to be observed. It is not adequate to assume that because a person qualifies for a trade, they are competent with any tools related to that trade. This is especially true of power tools. With this in mind, this training adopts a generic approach to training with power tools, enabling individuals to be aware of the hazards and necessary precautions.
