Course description:
The ‘Bespoke’ course is designed as an “ATEX Awareness Course” with the objective of introducing the participants to the ATEX Directives, Health and Safety Legislation and the risks and control measures associated with working in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The course notes provided are intended as a reference to facilitate further study into the subject.
The course is aimed at Safety, Operations and Technical Personnel and comprises 8 modules as outlined below and can be presented either on site, at your location or our Training Centre or by Teams / Webex etc.
While all subjects will be introduced, emphasis can be placed on each module to a greater or lesser extent or amended to suit your training requirements. Site specific material can be included e.g. Area Classification Drawings, hazard characteristics, site walk down etc.

Full course notes will be provided as a .pdf document to each attendee.
The course would be followed by a 20 question multi-choice assessment which can be attempted by each attendee and the answers discussed at the end of the session.
A POBS certificate of attendance would be provided to each attendee upon completion of the course.
For certified competency in working in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, Technicians / Inspectors / Engineers would need to complete one or more of the CompEx ISO 17024
accredited Practitioner’s training courses such as:
- The CompEx EX01-Ex04 (Gases & Vapours) Installation & Inspection Course.
- The CompEx EX05 & EX06 (Explosive Dusts) Installation & Inspection Course.
- The CompEx EX11 Mechanical Course.
- The CompEx EX12 ADE: Application Design Engineers Course.
