Manual Handling Training

Training and information alone are not enough to ensure safe manual handling, but rather are just one important aspect of a manual handling management program. Training is specific to the work tasks involved.

At the end of a training course, participants will have a clear understanding of the risks involved in manual handling and be able to apply the skills learned to their specific work activities. Manual Handling Instructors Course 

This comprehensive 5 day Specific Purpose Manual Handling Instruction certificate course covers all the aspects of instructing in Manual Handling. This is an intensive and highly interactive course which will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively design and deliver manual handling training in the workplace and to become a manual handling instructor. Participants are trained in instructional skills techniques as well as the theoretical and practical aspects of manual handling. A list of learning outcomes is listed below. Please note that this award is available through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Process for existing instructors with experience. See RPL section below. Successful participants on the programme will receive a Manual Handling Instruction Certificate.

Manual Handling Instructor Refresher

Manual Handling Instructor and Assessors Refresher Course  is intended for certified Manual Handling Instructors who should refresh their instructional skills every five years. Topics covered include: manual handling, ergonomics, risk assessment and train the trainer modules.
